P Company Test Week | ParaData - Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces To qualify for military parachute wings, students have to complete a number of parachute descents (sources vary between six and nine). This period of training is designed to provide airborne aspirants with an insight into life and training with airborne forces and is conducted at unit level under the guidance of Royal Army Physical Training Instructors (RAPTCIs) and All Arms Physical Training Instructors (AA PTIs). Seven events are scored with one, the Trainasium, being a straight pass or fail. Failure to meet the appropriate standard for any event will result in failure and candidates being subject to RTU (return to unit). There is some confusion, in both Royal Navy and Army circles, regarding the Subsunk Parachute Assistance Group, details in Section 5.2 below. The CIC is immediately followed by TA Pre-Parachute Selection test week. All Officers and soldiers who wish to serve with Airborne Forces must attend PPS with P Coy.
